The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers went out to Grand Bend Speedway in Grand Bend, Ontario for round #12 of the 2025 season. This was the second attempt of the year as the first visit to Grand Bend was cancelled due to mother nature.
Twelve cars made the long haul to tackle the 1/4 mile bullring. Jaden Riddell in the #13 car won heat race 1 while championship leader, Daniel Hawn in the #42 car took heat race 2. Dash for Cash race was set up this week by BW Towing of Orangeville. Four cars, four laps. No points, just some cold, hard cash. Adam Racine in the #05 car making his return to racing this season, took home the checkered flag along with the cash. Thank you to BW Towing of Orangeville for their support of this race.
After a brief intermission that included all of the cars on the track for fans to come meet the drivers and see these cars up front, all twelve drivers were set to do battle. Introductions on the front stretch were done. 3 wide salute to the fans due to the narrow track before 25 green laps. Tyler Cullen (43) and Dominique Smith (49) were on the front row and brought the field to green. Cullen got the launch he wanted and took the lead on lap 1. James Stanley (57) didn’t want to waste much time with barging into the lead on lap 2. The top 2 pulled away and caught lapped traffic. This helped Daniel Hawn (42) catch Stanley. In the end, Stanley was able to hold off the points leader taking the checkered flag for his second win in a row. Hawn finished second and McLennan (78) was able to claim third for a podium finish. Both Stanley and Hawn commented on “how great it is to see three HMCW Chassis cars on the podium. That is a win in itself.”
The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers are back racing again this weekend. This Saturday, August 16th is round #13 at Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, Ontario. With the recent announcement of management stepping away after 2025, it is unsure of the future of Sunset Speedway. This may be the very last visit to the 1/3 mile high-banked oval for the TQ Midgets. More information to follow.
