The Qwick Wick Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers rolled into Sunset Speedway in Innisfil, Ontario this past Saturday night. This was the second visit of the season to the high banks on the hill. There were 14 cars on the property to do battle. It was the top guns of the series taking the heat race wins with Daniel Hawn (42) and Darren McLennan (78) taking the checkered flags and parking it in Miller Office Trailers victory lane. There was also the first Dash for Cash race of the year. This was won by the rookie contender of Tyler Cullen (43). Thank you to Larry Wilson and Larry’s Small Engines for their support for this race.

The TQ midgets were the first feature race of the night. 25-laps were on tap of close, wheel to wheel action. Sunset provides a wide race track for moves to be made all throughout the field. With the wide race track, there are also races that provide good racing, with no cautions/wrecks. This was the case this past Saturday with the race going green to checkered. Paul Jorgensen (68) had a great run with the lead of the race. This was up until lap #12 where James Stanley (57) claiming the lead. Local driver Jeff Blackburn (7) would be close behind and have a great side by side

battle with Jorgensen lap after lap. The race was won by HMCW Chassis driver, Stanley with Blackburn and Jorgensen battling to the line. Blackburn would take second and Jorgensen would take third and the last podium spot.

The Qwick Wick Can-Am Midgets are scheduled to race at Canada’s Toughest 1/4 mile oval this Saturday night. The TQ midgets make their annual and only visit to Peterborough Speedway this Saturday!
