The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers began their 2026 season this past Saturday night. After a very long off season, it was time to go at Flamboro Speedway in Millgrove, Ontario. And what a way to get the season going with the open wheel extravaganza. Along with the TQ midgets, the Canadian Vintage Modifieds, and SOMA Pro 4 Modifieds were supporting the ISMA Super Modifieds. The Supers returned to Flamboro Speedway for the first time in 40 years.
Twelve TQ Midgets were on the property to do battle for the first event of 2026 and to start their pursuit of he championship for the full time runners. Heat race 1 went to the #15 car of Jaden Riddell in his new car for the year. Heat race 2 went to the defending champion of Daniel Hawn in the #42 car.
Full field of cars starting the 25 lap feature after a couple were not able to start their heat due to mechanical issues with the exception of Jody Bound (24). The race did go green to checkered for the full length of the allotted laps, but it was nothing but exciting for the top 3 positions. All guaranteed the podium places with the lead they had, but all cars within 1-2 car lengths of each other for the lead. Daniel Hawn (42) continued his quick laps all day taking the checkered flag. Jeff Blackburn in the #7 car making his return finished second with Darren McLennan (78) finishing third all parked it in victory lane presented by Glenn Styres Racing (GSR).
Jaden Riddell (15), Dominique Smith (49), Tyler Cullen (43), James Stanley (57), Adam Racine (05), Mike Westwood (91), Alex Connell (96), and Sherri Hogan (74) is your finishing order.
The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers are back at Flamboro Speedway on May 30th for Round #2 of the 2026 season.
