The Qwick Wick Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers were set to do battle after almost a month off out at Flamboro Speedway in Millgrove, Ontario. This was set to be the final race for the TQ Midgets where we would determine a champion.
Just 47 points separated 1st to 3rd in the standings going into the final race. Eve though the top 3 were very close on the track all season long, anything could happen to determine the champion in the 60th year of the club’s existence.
Teams unloaded and were able to get a practice round in before mother nature arrived with some rain showers. The crew at Flamboro were very optimistic to get the race in. Unfortunately, with the rain pouring down onto the ground, the track was lost and the races were cancelled. With the amount of races on the card the following Saturday, the TQ Midgets were unable to joint Flamboro as a rain date.
With Daniel Hawn in the #42 car leading the point standings with 1815, Hawn was crowned the 2024 champion. This would be Hawn’s second championship in a row. This is the first time a driver went back to back since Mack Deman’s run of 4 in a row from 2013-2016. Congratulations to Daniel and the whole #42 HMCW team!
