The TQ Midgets recently headed south down to Florida for the newly annual Winter Showdown Series at Auburndale Speedway. The event was hosted by The Mighty TQ Midgets club out to New York State. Richard Woodland (84), James Stanley (57), Darren McLennan (78), and series champion Daniel Hawn (42) all made the trek to represent Canada and represent the Can-Am Midget club.
Two open practice days followed by a sanctioned full day practice was held. Three days of racing followed with the INEX Legend Cars present as well getting ready for their huge event the following week. Daniel Hawn parked his 42 car on the podium each night with James Stanley having two podium finishes with a first place finish on the final night as well, making it the first win for a Canadian driver in this event.
Racin Macin (33) won the three day championship by just one point over both Hawn and Stanley. Thank you to Jim Smith and the Mighty TQ Midgets along with Auburndale Speedway for an amazing event and for having us come down for some fun in the sun.
