The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers rolled into Peterborough Speedway in Cavan, Ontario for Round #3 of the 2026 season in support of Autism Awareness Night the track has annually. This was also the TQ Midgets one and only visit to Peterborough in 2026.
Ten cars on hand with a few regulars missing the trip, but still made for a good show with tight turns around what they call Canada’s Toughest 1/3 Mile Oval. Daniel Hawn in the #42 car went from the back to the front to win heat race 1 while his HMCW Chassis 57 car of James Stanley won heat race 2.
A few divisions were present at Peterborough for the event and a wait was upon the drivers before feature time to adjust their cars. The Can-Am drivers made their way out on track. Long time official of the club, Terry Watts, noticed fluid coming out of the #49 car of Dominique Smith. Upon inspection, fuel had been leaking from the rear of the car and she was unable to start the feature race. Jody Bound (24) and Adam Racine (05) started on the front row when the green flag flew. Racine made quick work to claim the lead. Reigning and defending champion Hawn had to start near the rear, but was able to work his way to the front of the pack and battle Racine for the lead on lap 8. The race went green to checkered with Hawn taking the feature win. Stanley finished second after claiming that position on lap 19. Racine finished strong with a third-place spot on the podium.
Jaden Riddell (15), Tyler Cullen (43), Sherri Hogan (74), Mike Westwood (91), Jody Bound (24), Alex Connell (96), and Dominique Smith (DNS) rounded out the field.
The Can-Am Midgets presented by Miller Office Trailers have a quick turn around with their first double header weekend of the season. The drivers, crews, and officials all head out to Sauble Speedway for a Saturday and Sunday show. Details to follow and we hope to see you at the track!
