Existing Rule~ Section 5, # 17

Any driver involved in a serious accident, or sustains a head injury, requires a helmet inspection and written permission from their doctor in order to return to competition.

New rule proposal

Any driver that is involved in a serious crash that requires them to be transported to a medical facility, for any injury, or for loss of consciousness, must remain out of competition for that days events. They will also be required to have their helmet inspected by the manufacturer and recertified, if it was a head injury. And before returning to competition, they must fill out a form written by Club to be signed by a Doctor, stating they have been re-examined and are cleared to race.  At anytime, if the Board of Directors or Race Director is not comfortable with a situation, they can over rule the injured party.  The Club will provide a form for the Doctor.

RULES SUBMISSIONS FOR 2012

BY ANDY MACKERETH

Proposed weight rules for 2012 to be Kawasaki ZX7 super stock(91-95) 940. Kawasaki ZX7 New Gen (96-03) 890.  Suzuki GSXR 750 (00-05) 920 .

Passed (96-03 Kawasaki ZX7 and 00-05 Suzuki GSXR 750 still on probation)

We brought in 1 1/8 inch cages in 1999 to move to sager cars.  We should finally put 1” cage cars to rest at the end of the 2012 season.  13 years after the rule change seems long enough for a safety rule to be fully instated.

Gear Rule

A maximum gear ratio shall be specified for each track within 30 days of the schedule being released in the Spring. The gear shall be such that the target RPM reached during the Heats shall be 13,100 RPM by the top 5 cars. Car owners shall make their recoding tachometer reading available to the race Director immediately after the heats, before erasing them. If the average is more than 200 RPM either way from this range, the ratio shall be adjusted at least 1 hour before the feature to fall into that range. The club may supply and install a recording tachometer to one of the cars in the heats as necessary to confirm RPM’s reached. This club tach is for information only, actual gear ratio as measured on the car shall govern.

Method to determine gear ratio shall be, as follows: Remove spark plugs, place engine in race gear, bring engine to TDC, mark rear tire at bottom, rotate engine through 10 revolutions and observe tire rotation. Tire shall not rotate more degrees than specified ratio. i.e. gear rule 10.33:1, tire may not rotate more than 1 divided by 10.33 for each 10 engine revolutions or in this example .968 revolutions. Put a stagger tape around the tire, measure circumference times .968, tire may not rotate past .968 of circumference ( 66” tire x .968, tire can’t rotate past 63.89” mark – 2% tolerance, max. rotation 65.16”
