Gray Takes Checkered At Grand
Bend Speedway
James Gray took his third checkered flag of the season at Grand Bend
Speedway, while the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets ran 30 laps green to
checkered Saturday, July 26, 2008. Gray's talent was showcased Saturday
night as he began flying passed lapped traffic with ease. The leaders
began to lap the field on lap eleven, leaving only six cars to finish on
the lead lap. Daniel Bois came up through the field quickly, taking second
position on lap fourteen, and holding on to it for the checkered. Todd
Cresswell and Rob Neely were in third and fourth positions, but were
unfortunately involved in a wreck on the last lap of the race. The caution
was called, but Gray had already taken the checkered flag. Jared Turnbull
took home a third place finish, while rookie, Richard Boake, put on an
impressive show, finishing fourth; Greg Smulders rounded out the top five.
With all of the excitement of Saturday night, the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets
are looking forward to their return to Grand Bend Speedway on September
06, 2008.

Bois Takes Checkered Flag at
Peterborough Speedway
Daniel Bois took his third
checkered flag of the season at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday, July
19, 2008. The only driver to win three feature races this season, Bois,
who is currently second in the championship points, has now begun to close
the points gap between himself and James Gray, the current points leader,
who finished second on Saturday night. Greg Smulders came up through the
field quickly, finishing third, while Todd Cresswell and Rob Neely rounded
out the top five. The red flag came out on lap one of the feature, because
of a five car pile-up going into turn one. Due to the mandatory use of
head and neck restraints, along with the strong craftsmanship of the Lucas
Oil Can-Am Midgets, all drivers involved were able to walk away from the
wreck unharmed.
The points battle continues between Bois and Gray as they both
consistently finish in the top three, and now officially half-way through
the 2008 season, it is nearly impossible to predict who will take the 2008
Lucas Oil Can-Am Midget Championship.

Points Leader Wins at
Flamboro Speedway
The points battle
continues as young guns James Gray and Daniel Bois battled for the win at
Flamboro Speedway Saturday, July 12, 2008. Current points leader, Gray,
took the checkered flag, and Bois finished right behind him, in second
position. Greg Smulders made his way up to third position on lap three and
held on to it for the finish. Rob Neely and Todd Cresswell rounded out the
top five. With a sky of dark clouds looming above earlier in the day, it
was not looking promising for the Lucas Oil Can-Am Midgets. Fortunatly,
the sky cleared and the sun appeared, which dried up the track, and Gray
was able to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, becoming the
second driver to take two feature wins this season. Gray and Bois have
been neck in neck all year, and now half-way through the season, they are
sure to put on a great show for the second half of the 2008 Lucas Oil
Can-Am Midget season.
