Tyler Mackereth, 3^rd generation driver in his 4^th year with the club won his first feature.

Heat 1 saw David Balych win the race after a slight battle with his teammate Daniel Bois #20. On lap 5 Randy May hit the rear wheel of Paul Smith’s #2 and went into the wall in corner 1. He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

After the re-start 12 and 20 ran each other hard as did Jared Turnbull #59 and Paul Smith # 2, with Wayne Turnbull #31 close behind.

Finish: Balych 12, Bois 20, Smith 2, J. Turnbull 59, W Turnbull 31, Alison Macleod 4, Chris Bauman 22.

Heat 2

Larry Wilson #5 led the charge from the green. On lap 2 Curtis Friesen #68 put up a huge smoke trail from his engine as a breather line was pinched and allowed oil into the engine. Stefan Haas #1 was leading lap 2 and blew his engine going into corner 3.   As this was happening to Haas, Adam Walsh #49 rocketed past him and crashed heavily in the wall.  A rock the size of a good wad of gum lodged itself in the carb linkage and held them wide open…. Every racer’s nightmare. He exited the car unhurt but very puzzled as to why it stuck. Greg Smolders #00 took the lead on the re-start and checked out followed by the #48 of Darrin McClennan.#

Heat 3

On lap 1 Lucas Smith got the lead when he passed the battling Tyler Mackereth #40 and his dad Craig #43 on the inside on corner 3.

Lap 3, Lucas led, Tyler #40 was second and Todd Cresswell, our points leader was third having come from 6^th position. Lucas led to the finish with Todd spinning corner 4 on the checked lap.

Lucas Can-Am Feature

Balych #12 took the green from pole only to have a caution come out on lap 2 when Larry Wilson #5 got run into and hit the wall on the front stretch.

On the re-start Tyler Mackereth #40 took the lead and never looked back.

Lap 4 Craig Mackereth #43 brushed the wall and spun across the track.   As a result the #2 of Paul Smith spun around and stopped against the wall and the #3 of Todd Cresswell rolled, ending up on Smith’s hood.

Tyler led with Bois #20 2^nd.  Dan May #7 was passing a car a lap having starting deep in the field was 3^rd, Allison Macleod 4^th, Lucas Smith #94 was 5^th.

Lap 15 the #36 of Hodgkinson flipped in corner 4.

Lap 16 re-started with the #22 of Chris Bauman flipping coming out of corner 4.

Unfortunately the race had to be called because of the by-law time curfew at lap 18.
