Saturday Night, the cars and stars of the Can-Am Midget series took to the high speed 1/3 mile oval of Sunset Speedway.

Feature #1 got underway with David Miller taking his second pole starting position of the season and Luc Munsie making up the front row. But action quickly broke out on lap two as four cars (#2 Steve Murdock, #26 Luc Munsie, #44 Cassidy March and #94 Ryan Fraser) got into a melee in turns 1 and 2. Munsie suffered the most damage suffering a broken rf suspension and ending his race. The #94 also had a bent front axle and pulled off into the pits, retiring from the race. On a side note #29 Paul Harrison also suffered some suspension damage from contact the lap previous and also took his car pit side. Action however did resume with David Miller and Darren Dryden, who had now made his way up to 2nd place leading the field back to the green flag. Dryden jumped out to the lead off of the restart and never looked back, as the remaining laps went caution free. Dominique Smith finished 2nd and Steve Murdock rounded out the top 3.

After an hour long break between races, Feature #2 was set to go with rookie Daniel Hawn and Steve Murdock bringing the field down for the start. Murdock took the lead early on, but once again the rocket ship that was the #12 machine of Darren Dryden flew into the lead on lap 3. Seeming as if he was in his own ZIP code (or in our case Postal code) Dryden went on to win by half a lap over 2nd place Steve Murdock and Daniel Hawn hung on to take his first ever podium as well taking the 3rd position.
